Provide a strategic and visionary leadership in the attainment of institute’s vision, mission and objectives, maintain and promote innovation as well as ensure efficiency and good governance of the organisation and shall;

1.      Initiate , propose, implement and monitor the institute’s broad objectives, policies, systems and procedures in consultation with the council and Presidium

2.      Ensure the development of effective and innovative lobbying strategies to industry and government inorder to promote the interests of members under the guidance of the presidium.

3.      Ensure that strong strategic and annual planning processes are in place as well as processes for the related compilation and monitoring of a detailed action plan for team strategies , to be consolidated into the organisation’s Strategic plan.

4.      Constantly research the latest trends and dynamics in the accountancy and other professions to ensure that both resident and non-resident see value in their affiliation with the institute.

5.      Grow the membership base and regularly review and recommend improved membership benefits to maximize value offered to members.

6.      Due to the nature of the business, be prepared to participate in any events or functions that include extensive national and international travel including travel outside of traditional working hours.

7.      Develop and maintain positive and progressive relationships with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders including council, secretariat, committees, and external stakeholders such as government entities and other cooperating partners.

8.      Attend meetings of committees

9.      Oversee the provision of services to members of the institute, upkeep of students and members’ database as well as maintenance of the overall information system of the institute.

10.  Ensure the efficient running of the institute’s examinations

11.  Strengthen the members’ capabilities by sharing expertise and experience and maintain their status and relevance to society.

12.  Develop and oversee the organisation’s centenary celebration strategies inorder to market the institute’s vison for the next 100 years.

13.  Spearhead the organisation’s Business Development Initiatives and diversify the institute’s revenue base from being entirely dependent on subscriptions.

14.  Implement sound financial management practices and compliance with laws and regulations.

15.  Recruitment and retention of competent staff.


·         Accounting and business related fields at executive level.  Possession of any other post graduate qualification will be an added advantage

·         Ability to form and maintain positive, strong working relationships with members and key stakeholders to facilitate the accomplishment of organizational goals.

·         Ability to develop, implement and evaluate strategies including work load and resource management.

·         Highly motivated, energetic and self-starter who is able to drive results

·         Have commitment to and substantial experience in networking, teambuilding and resource mobilization
